Shamcey wants to pursue teaching: Unlike many other beauty queens before her, 2011 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Shamcey Supsup doesn’t want to jump into show business after her reign. The 24-year-old beauty said she’d rather give back to the country through “teaching.”“I dream of going back to teaching sa Alma Mater [ko],” she declared in an interview on ANC on Wednesday, May 4. "Mahal ko ang U.P. at Pilipinas," noted the magna cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, who also topped the licensure exams for architects last year. The General Santos City native stressed the need to serve the country as a teacher, especially since “a lot of professionals” are already opting to work overseas. “Konti na lang ang nandito para magturo,” she said.
If given a chance to teach, Supsup said she will try to bring her students out of the classroom to experience “actual [work] condition[s].” “Kasi doon ko na-feel na kulang kami… How will you put [your skill] to [practical] use based on the principle?" (mb.com.ph)
