Miss Venezuela 2011
MIAMI: Shanghai Media Group’s International Channel will rebroadcast the 2011 Miss Venezuela pageant on the eve of the Chinese New Year through a deal with the Cisneros Group of Companies.

The Miss Venezuela 2011 beauty pageant is produced in HD by Venevision and was aired live in Venezuela and throughout Latin America via DirecTV and in the U.S. on the Univision Network. In China, Shanghai Media Group’s International Channel aired the program in three segments from January 1 to January 3, and will rebroadcast it on January 22.

“The spectacular imagery of the Miss Venezuela 2011 pageant in full HD now shines in the beautiful setting of China, thanks to our allies at Shanghai Media Group’s International Channel,” said Miguel Dvorak, the president and COO of the Cisneros Group of Companies. “The alliance with the Shanghai Media Group broadens our horizons in the Asian region as part of our strategic global expansion, initially sharing culturally relevant programming that is so significant and representative of our identity.”

“We are pleased to collaborate with Venevision International and make this cultural exchange happen,” said Cathy Xu, the producer of Shanghai Media Group’s International Channel. “We also look forward to working together in the future.”

Miss Earth, a life changing experience: Hasleen

Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam
Hasleen Kaur
A beauty with brains, Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2011, Hasleen Kaur, is all set to conquer the earth literally in many ways.

Currently shooting in Mumbai for the brand Pantaloons where the preparations for the coveted Miss India 2012 pageant are on full swing, Hasleen gets a all nostalgic remembering her hectic but enjoyable stint at Femina Miss India pageant and the Miss Earth pageant in Manila, Philippines, last year. She sums it up as a "life changing experience".

She adds with a touch of humour, "It was quite enriching. Just by sitting at one place, I got to know about the whole world. It was not just a competition, as all the girls shared the same dream at the end of the day." (timesofindia.indiatimes.com)
